The Importance of Community Gardens

Come celebrate Earth Day with Conservation Nebraska!
Join us and guest speakers Nathan Morgan, Molly Phemister, and Greg Fripp for a discussion on the advantages of community gardens both at the individual and group level. We will be focusing on our connection with food and how these gardens help anchor communities.

Greg Fripp is the founder and director of Whispering Roots, a nonprofit dedicated to providing culinary education to students and residences in underserved communities.
Nathan Morgan is the executive director of The Big Garden, a nonprofit which helps to establish community gardens and hosts programs including after-school culinary classes and hands-on gardening for all levels.
Molly Phemister is the Southern Heights Food Forest coordinator. The Southern Heights Food Forest is a nonprofit located on a 2-acre plot of land in the city of Lincoln.
